Works by Ransome
Elaine Bailey Augustine Art Gallery presents works by artist Ransome. Reflective of his African American lineage, Ransome tells personal stories by the interplay between symbols and social, racial, ancestral, economic, and political histories that alludes to current issues. Combining acrylic paint with found materials, Ransome approaches his paintings with the same spontaneity unique to the Hip Hop artists and the resourcefulness of rural quilters of Gee’s Bend, creating something out of nothing.
